why we do what we do

eating for a vibrant life

Who are we?

Ojas Ayurvedic Kitchen is a traveling Ayurvedic concept kitchen run by four friends. We bring our expertise in yoga & Ayurveda together with our experience in food & nutrition to rebel against distraction & disconnection through slow, seasonal eating, even in a busy city.

Each eating experience carefully crafted to have a centering effect on your whole being. We have been hosting four-course feasts at James Beard nominated restaurant, Mei Mei, for evenings of food for vibrant living. Each colorful veggie-centric course is served up alongside Ayurvedic information on each ingredient’s impact on the body and mind.

We source locally as often as possible, and have pick ingredients to sync you with the rhythms of nature during each season. We plan each meal based on earth-offerings each time of year, so you’ll stay balanced, even in the midst of change.

Why Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a yogic science of living that recognizes the whole individual as a microcosm of nature. Our daily routines, including what we eat, can influence and increase our ojas, which is essentially our juiciness, immunity, and vitality that keeps us grabbing life by the horns.

The Ayurvedic way of eating is seasonal, and recognizes the effect of foods on body, mind, and spirit. Our events are centered around the holistic experience of eating, which affects every aspect of our being, and includes every part of you.

Ojas helps everything hum along. There's less internal friction, more compassion, stability, and patience. Our name reflects our mission to bring the juiciness, live in the flow, go slow, and savor every last drop of life.
